Hello Danny, I have a daughter with dark purple and pink walls in her room. She wants to have it repainted with a light green color. What paint should I use or is there anything else I would have to do. thanks

Thanks for asking Dennis I recalk and fix any cracks then if you use a top quaility latex paint you should be able to cover the old color in two coats also I have started using a matte finish because it does not have a sheen and you can wash it as long as you don't use any thing that has alcohol are ammonia in it I hope this helps

Mike the way I always tell is take denatured alcohol or household alcohol and pore some on a rag and wipe it on the painted area if it wipes some off it is latex. If it does not wipe off it is oil paint. If it is oil you can prime it with oil primer which dries to a flat finish that can be painted with latex paint. I have tried benjamin moore's Advance paint you have to sand the oil first then paint over it after wipeing the dust off. I always try small spot first then let it dry and test it to see if it is bonded I hope this helps.
